Families don’t necessarily get along that well
On a whim this week I checked back on Storytron to see what they’re up to. I’m not really a fan, but I was sort of curious where the project ended up. (Ok, it was motivated by at least a modicum of schadenfreude.) Short answer: not really anywhere yet. Nevertheless, I stumbled across some design diaries that made for interesting reading. None of the tech discussion made any sense to me, but then probably my own tech talk doesn’t make sense to them, either. But I could recognize some of the same concerns that I have when I’m working on my stories. It makes me long for a better community even more, and makes me feel a little guilty for being so dimissive of their work.
I still think Chris Crawford is kind of nuts, though. Using a narrative engine to create a geopolitical simulation? What is that about?
