Somnambulation
It just occured to me that it might be much easier, from a technical point of view, to do viewing of single passages at a time by dropping the TiddlyWiki stuff entirely and just using a simple iframe. It’s a sobering thought, to drop so much technology that I’ve worked on. The only thing I can really think of right now is that programmability would be harder — that is, remembering past choices and generating choices dynamically, printing text conditionally, and so on. Hmm. I haven’t really been sleeping on regular hours this week and so I think I am unable to make complex technical decisions like this. A little voice also asks if I would even be considering this kind of thing under more normal circumstances.
Either way I would still need a tool. Nobody likes generating lots and lots of tiny HTML pages by hand, if I went the iframe route.
